This is a reproduction with notes of the earliest known English Ballad. A very uncommon first printing is presented here. Original blue cloth boards and printed on heavy rag paper with uncut edges. The cover shows some edge, corner wear and spine wear. Heavy foxing on the free end papers in the front and back, the rest of the pages are in excellent condition. Some chipping to top page edges. Previous owners inscription (D. R. MacLaren 1917) . MacLaren was a World War I Canadian Air Force Ace having shot down 43 enemy planes during his career.
